The K01 Award, or the Mentored Research Scientist Career Development Award, provides support and protected time for an intensive, supervised career development experience in the biomedical, behavioral, or clinical sciences leading to research independence. Some NIH Institutes use the K01 to enhance workforce diversity, or for individuals who propose to train in a new field, or for individuals who have had a hiatus in their research career. The purpose of the K01 in the context of this study is to allow Dr. Turner to gain expertise on the interrelationships between multiple measures of psychosocial and neurocognitive factors associated with Alzheimer’s Disease dementia related accelerated cognitive aging.
