THE ATHLETE BRAIN HEALTH & AGING STUDY IS FUNDED BY THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE ON AGING AT THE NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH.
The K01 Award, or the Mentored Research Scientist Career Development Award, provides support and protected time for an intensive, supervised career development experience in the biomedical, behavioral, or clinical sciences leading to research independence.
In the context of the Athlete Brain Health & Aging Study, this grant will allow Dr. Robert Turner to gain expertise on the interrelationships between multiple measures of psychosocial and neurocognitive factors related to cognitive decline, and on the impact of trauma and aging on brain health.
